The DFL Women's Hall of Fame is a concrete way to honor the contributions of women to our party.  The DFL Women's Hall of Fame is the only DFL awards ceremony that focuses exclusively on women. The Women's Summit Committee solicits nominations on behalf of outstanding women from across the state.  The women we honor represent a broad range of activists statewide that make up our DFL party. The DFL Women's Hall of Fame also does not focus on individuals currently holding elective office or party leadership on the Congressional District level and above. 

Our belief is that we need to honor those women not currently in the spotlight. That's not to say elected officials can't and don't win our Women of Distinction Awards, but rather, they are not honored while in office.   We also want to identify and honor the new women of all ages that will become the future leaders of our party. Therefore, the committee established a Rising Stars category to acknowledge and encourage new and emerging leaders.   The criteria for both of these categories is listed on the nominations form.
